The Burundian diaspora is launching into agriculture and livestock breeding
The NCDP Cooperative (NIRAGIRA Community Development Project) organized, on Friday January 19, 2024, an awareness workshop on the modern reproduction of banana plants for the Burundian population of Rwintamba hill.
The representative of the NCDP cooperative, Mr. Alphonse NAHIMANA and member of the Burundian diaspora residing in Canada, took advantage of this opportunity to appeal to the entire Burundian diaspora to invest in Burundi especially in the sectors of agriculture and livestock . Farmers from Rwintamba hill learned the different modern methods of growing banana plants from technicians from the NCDP cooperative. Note that this project is being expanded with the aim of spreading it across the entire Burundian territory.
The Administrator of the Gishubi commune, Madame Marie Chantal NDUWAYEZU is delighted with this initiative, because, according to her, production will be increased. It raises awareness and encourages the population of this locality to get involved in the reproduction of the plants of these banana trees to obtain a good yield and meet daily needs.
As for the farmers of Gishubi commune on Rwintamba hill, they appreciate the progress of this project because they are able to apply all the lessons learned concerning the modern reproduction of banana plants.
